Acrow Galvanising - Barrier Access for new Purpose Built Facility

January 8, 2017

Acrow galvanising have recently moved premises from Saffron Walden to a purpose built facility at Haverhill. STC were approached to supply a new 12 tonne platform scale for weighing the material going through the galvanising process and to install entrance and exit barriers to control flow of traffic onto and out of the site. The 12 tonne platform scale was to be situated outside the premises on a pre-made stand with the indicator displaying the customer's name and type of material used. This information together with the date, weight and time was sent via  the PC network to an excel spread sheet collating the day's information. Alongside this were two further remote displays showing the workforce total shift weight which had been processed together with a number of dips into the galvanising tanks per shift. The entrance and exit barriers were linked with remote control fobs to allow forklift drivers to open the barrier to gain access to site without having to leave their vehicle to go to a specified area. An audio speech panel was also introduced to allow visitors or delivery drivers to communicate with office staff.
